Futuristic, IshDARR, ScribeCash, Endr Won, Lawz of Motion

March 18, 2018 - 8:00pm

On Sunday, March 18, the Community Center for the Performing Arts and University of Oregon Campus Radio 88.1 FM KWVA proudly welcome Futuristic’s “What More Could You Ask For” Tour to the WOW Hall with special guests IshDARR and ScribeCash plus Eugene’s own Endr Won and Lawz of Motion.

Hip-hop moves at the lightning-fast pace of the Internet these days, and Futuristic, a Tempe rapper on the verge of making it big, knows that better than anyone.  In the past two years, the 23-year-old Bloomington, Illinois, native has written dozens of songs, released two albums, recorded enough tracks to fill another, shot at least a half-dozen music videos, two of which have more than one million views on YouTube, and was featured in RAW Cyphers and on the Sway in the Morning radio show.

Futuristic wrote his first raps at the age of six and hasn't looked back since.  His 2015 album The Rise debuted at #2 on itunes and #9 on Hip-Hop Billboard charts.  He has been touring virtually non-stop over the last three years -- headlining his own tours and supporting acts with a wide variety of fanbases.  His fast witty lyrics mixed with substance and relatable subject matter has gained him his own cult following called WTFGang -- which stands for "We're The Future".

As an independent artist Futuristic takes pride in his creativity and versatility using his words to inspire his fans and let them know that anything is truly possible, but also gives them music to BANG with the top down in the summer and get them in the feels when they need something to vibe too.

“Everything about Futuristic moves fast,” reports Phoenix New Times. “The rapper's got a smooth-as-butter flow and a high-horsepower delivery, revving up from Devin the Dude to Tech N9ne speeds at will.”

In 2016 Futuristic hit the internet heavy with all sorts of viral content, a new project titled As Seen on the Internet and headlined his first ever solo World tour selling out shows from Seattle to Australia!  Last December, Futuristic released his sixth studio album Blessings.

ISHDARR

Midwest rapper IshDARR got his start while still a high-school student in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  The artist born Ishmael Ali grew up listening to his father's jazz and rap, which included Lil Wayne, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, and the Pharcyde.  During his freshman year at Messmer High School, he hooked up with his big brother's crew, rapping at house parties and talent shows. However, when his group mates graduated, he was left alone. He almost gave up -- a promising football career was also an option -- but was encouraged by his music teacher, whom students affectionately dubbed G Flat.

With a sharp attention to catchy hooks like Lupe Fiasco and a lyrical dexterity like Vince Staples and Isaiah Rashad, IshDARR uploaded his early songs online, building a following while still studying and doing his homework.  In 2014, he issued the Better Life EP, which included the single "POPS" featuring Rina.  He caught the attention of Atlantic Records and entered the studio to work with producers Arthur McArthur (Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Lil Wayne) and J. Gramm (Kid Cudi, Travis Scott).  His debut, Old Soul Young Spirit, arrived in 2015.  The lead single "Too Bad” reached #1 on the Hype Machine charts.

IshDarr has opened for Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jeremih, among others.  He gained national attention after Carrie actress Chloe Grace Moretz tweeted "Ooh, I feel" bringing Ali's hit single 255,000-plus streams on SoundCloud.  Since then, IshDARR has received press from national news music magazines including the Source, Vibe, and Complex Magazine.

In 2016, IshDARR released his full length Broken Hearts & Bankrolls LP with EMPIRE, a single and recorded a music video with singer Jacob Latimore called "The Real”.

SCRIBECASH

ScribeCash, the multitalented, California-bread female emcee, premiered her video “Never Breaking Up” feat. TreVante on BET’s 106 & Park.  Soon after, she then aired the video for her single “Get on My Level” feat. Eric Bellinger.  Igniting the fire that is her rough edge with refreshing beauty, she lays bars similar to the likes of her predecessors with a unique flare of west coast flavor.

After opening up for Kid Ink, following up as an opening act for Eric Bellinger’s national tour, and opening for Mindless Behavior, she kept that momentum going by then headlining her very own show on at the legendary Whiskey A Go Go — then co-headlining a national tour Summer 2016 and headlining her own tour in 2017.  This young performer is just beginning her trip to the top.

The Insomnia mixtape garnered ScribeCash more than 100,000 downloads, a Twitter following of 20,000 and a fan base that continues to grow by each Vevo click.  “Dauntless” dropped made its way to BET Jams and Revolt TV followed by The Departure EP.  Her debut album 99+1 drops this March.

ENDR WON

Eugene’s Endr Won" is recognized and respected as someone who prides himself on substance over nonsense through a combination of lyrical skill and a work ethic that cannot be matched.  He is especially admired for his stage presence and attention grabbing LIVE performances that utilize raw honesty, crowd interaction, and a magnetic-like talent level that in today's hip-hop world of mumble rap, is simply hard to come by.

Some background worth mentioning about Endr Won as a person and as an artist is this... Childhood was spent with half in Southern California and half in Eugene -- during which he faced and battled drug addiction/alcoholism, child abuse, homelessness, incarceration, violence, and near death bouts with emotional mood disorders.  In 2010, Endr Won released his first official E.P. and word quickly spread that the talent and story of this young man.  With a buzz created and growing over the years, primarily due to his LIVE performances and the ability to genuinely connect with any/all crowds he stood in front of, the requests by venues, tour promoters/managers, and other artists to bring his talent to their shows/events, began to pour in.

Various noteworthy names Endr Won has performed with are; Pharoahe Monch, E-40, Twista, The Game, Swollen Members, Mac Miller, Cunninlinguists, Andre Nickatina, Mistah Fab, The Jacka (RIP), Masta Ace and eMC, Grieves, Blue Scholars, Sir Mix-a-lot, Bone Thugs N' Harmony, Devin The Dude, Zion I, and many more.

Now, after numerous life changing moves with more than enough life stories to write about, Endr Won released the full length project, Bigger Than Me in 2017.  The album has caught fire in the hearts of fans as he let's us into his thoughts, his relationships, and his perspectives on life in the ever-changing world we live in.

The album's two leading singles come with amazing visuals, as well as, a featured collaboration with famed hip hop legend M.C. Juice, memorably known for defeating Eminem in the 1996 Scribble Jam.  With word of the new album only growing, Endr Won has now followed up the album with his first national tour, spanning 27+ cities from Oregon to Maine, from September 21st through November, 2017.

Aside from promoting his recent release, Endr Won is looking ahead while booking dates at events through 2018 and working on future material that has his fans, friends, and family looking forward to what he has in store.
