Vial...Experiment, One Gun Shy, Shanoa, Hyding Jekyll

July 27, 2018 - 7:30pm

On Friday, July 27, the Community Center for the Performing Arts and Phoenix Productions Presents welcome Vial…Experiment, One Gun Shy, Shanoa and Hyding Jekyll at the WOW Hall.

Seattle rock and roll band One Gun Shy is celebrating the release of their third album Eye of the Storm (Momma Lynn Records/Lime & Dine Records).

“Our co-labeling venture has resulted in an extraordinary album. This is the culmination of the band's musical vision and the collaborative hard work of several Pacific Northwest music professionals living in our community,” said Momma Lynn Founder and CEO, Michael Decker.  “Hard Rock music is making a resurgence in the Seattle Music Scene and One Gun Shy is part of that effort.”

One Gun Shy loves to joke around and hang out with their fans, but take their music very seriously.  Fans rave about their solid live performances.

“The term 'One Gun Shy' is a guitar reference, meaning that one guitar is missing from the ensemble. In the early stages of the band formation, the guys wanted another guitar player.  They kept placing ads on Craigslist, but to no avail.  So, they were, as it seemed 'one gun shy' and the name stuck.” Reports Julia Hodges (The Husky Herald - The University of Washington - Bothell Newspaper).

The band is comprised of drummer and founding member, Chris Womble along with bassist Dave Leighton anchoring the thunderous, hard-driving rhythm section.  Issa Koberstein and Perry Dillard are the guitar players who seamlessly trade licks reminiscent of dueling guitar bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.  Lead singer Neriah “Stone” Heart adds vocals and yet another guitar for some songs.  Certainly, the band no longer lacks any guitar fire-power.

“Eye of the Storm consists of 11 tracks recorded at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, with secondary recording and mixing and mastering by Tim Sage at Studio Sage in Edmonds, Washington,” notes Philip Sayblack (Philspick).  “The title-song for the new album features a heavy, guitar-driven composition that will appeal to fans of Theory of a Deadman, Soil, Three Days Grace, Shinedown and other similar acts.”

One Gun Shy began in 2011 with drive and determination to do something different on a musical note.  They carved their sound around Seattle and surrounding areas; touring for the past several years proving that fans do enjoy what they have created and the two releases have been more than expected.  Eye Of The Storm is slated for release in July of 2018.

VIAL...EXPERIMENT

Eugene hard rock/metal band Vial…Experiment will headline the show and play last.  The band enjoys feeling and living life, playing loud and bringing music to all who want to listen.  Band members are Kevin Wayne Richardson "Kevlar" (guitar/vocals), The Madman Mike Nelson (lead guitar), Fat Ass (bass) and Tim "Talos" Benton (drums).

Formed in 2007, Vial...Experiment is a powerhouse musical juggernaut with an imminent album release and tour dates coming soon.  Collectively the band notes its influences as Alice In Chains, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Elvis, CCR, Pantera, Sepultura, Tool, Black Label Society, Mudvayne, Hellyeah and so many more...

SHANOA

Shanoa is a four-piece metal band based in Roseburg.  Formed in 2016, the band includes Matt Webber, Tony Marin, and Lei'a Lei'a Jr. (three former members of southern Oregon's own Lidless Eye) as well as Brandon Cregan, former guitarist of the popular southern Oregon band Tallboy.  Heavy, riff driven songs, and an amazing connection with the crowd make Shanoa’s live performances something you won't want to miss!

HYDING JEKYLL

2018 marks ten years Hyding Jekyll has been making music in the Willamette valley.  A combination of the band's influences and its members experiences, the music moves from funk laden riffs to spacey openings.  The songs tell a story from power to failure, humanity at it's best to worst.  The music shapes the stories.  “We try to take everyone on an adventure,” says founding member Greg Gillispie.

Hyding Jekyll started in 2008 as a tribal funk trio.  Over the years and several lineup changes, Hyding Jekyll has become a much more diverse band musically.  The eclectic nature allows Hyding Jekyll to groove to the sound of the moment and write the story around it.

Hyding Jekyll continues to grow their local fan base while continuing as one of areas longest running original bands.  Always shifting changing and trying to give each show something different, the future is wide open and Hyding Jekyll looks forward to sharing it with you.  With their heavy funk sound, die hard attitude and outstanding musical savvy, Hyding Jekyll looks to make an impact locally and beyond,
