MarchFourth with Solovox

February 9 at 8:00 pm

On Friday, February 9th the Community Center for the Performing Arts proudly welcomes MarchFourth  with Solovox at the WOW Hall.

MarchFourth

MarchFourth is a joy-inducing force of entertainment, celebrating their 20th Anniversary this year. The colorful explosion of brassy funk, rock, and jazz is all about the groove. This larger-than-life group of 15 musicians, dancers and acrobats brings a spirit of celebration wherever they go. MarchFourth is, in a word, FUN!

With exceptional musical quality and a visual kaleidoscope of performers, MarchFourth is a spectacle of high-energy compositions, colorful costumes, and irresistible charisma! M4 has been seen on stages from ESPN’s Espy Awards to festivals like Wakarusa, Bumbershoot, and High Sierra Music Fest, to world-class venues like The Kennedy Center, Hollywood Bowl, The Fillmore, and even a cultural exchange tour to China, sponsored by the US State Department.

MarchFourth’s track “Gospel” (from their self-released album Rise Up, 2009) was featured as the closing credits theme song in the Disney/Pixar animated film, Monsters University. MarchFourth’s new album Worth It is due out in 2023.

“From the first note to the last, the sound was pumping and the fun never stopped.”  ~USAToday

Solovox

An essential crowd favorite of the Pacific NW and beyond for over twenty years, Solovox is a live electronic performer unlike any ‘DJ’ you’ve ever seen.  Armed with endless synth power and his signature keytar, Solovox composes original and custom-remixed dance music that spans every genre from electro, house, techno, rock, and a whole lot of funk into his own style he lovingly calls Electro-Stank.  It’s irresistible, positive, and doesn’t fit into any mold.

Since 2001 Solovox has played or headlined hundreds of shows and festivals including multiple stints at Oregon Country Fair (first ever electronic act booked), What The Festival, Burning Man, Pacific Fire Gathering, Los Angeles Burning Man Decompression, Nexus (LA), Fuente Eterno in Mexico, Elysium (San Diego), and The Eclipse Festival in 2017. In Portland became a staple at HOWL, Whiteout, and multiple New Year’s Eve events no one can quite remember accurately.

He’s composed music for video games, film, television, and numerous clients looking for a custom sound.  He is also the keyboardist for Portland’s legendary Nowhere Band, and will soon be announced as the keyboardist for another long-running and immensely popular tribute act from the Northwest.
